EASTERN
REGION (Everest
area)
In this part of the country, you will be enchanted by the
awesome beauty of its landscape and its people who still
welcome travelers into their community with open arms.
With plenty of uninhabited high ridges offering
spectacular views of Makalu, Everest and Kangchenjunga, the festivals
and weekly haat bazaar, you can go from complete solitude to immersing
yourself in a diversity of cultures as your heart and soul
desires. And if a more strenuous excursion is desired, the
far eastern region of Nepal offers some of our finest trekking
experiences, with some excursions reaching 6,100 meters (18,200
foot) in altitude.
CENTRAL
REGION (Langtang
- Helambu Area)
These treks offer a variety of picturesque villages and breathtaking
views of Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and the Annapurnas.
Central Nepal is a fine introduction into some of the more off-the-beaten
path trekking as the terrain is constant, but not too steep,
and the altitude is relatively low. This is one of the few areas
that is best visited in winter as the summer months can get
a bit hot.
WESTERN
REGION (Annapurna/Pokhara
Area)
Western Nepal is significantly different than
the rest of the country, partly due to its remoteness and that
it is the least known area. The landscape is well forested with
long ridges, dry, yet extremely poor—that is until you
reach Pokhara Valley and tranquil Pokhara Lake. Historically,
this region of Nepal has served as a Himalayan crossroads, merging
various religions and cultures together, and for trekkers today
offers some of the best experiences that one should not miss—but
only with a seasoned guide and plenty of provisions. And, if
you are looking for a little more adventure, then Nepal's "Wild
West" (Far Western Region) may be just the
area.
